Who here is a member of a local group? Actually, the ONLY "requirement" of membership is that you say so (and respect others choices to be gay, lesbian, straight, bi, tras, whatever . Then print off and fill out the card and you're "official"!

I'm currently the default contact person for the OC PP, mainly because I'm at the range anyway on the nominal meeting night each month.
Most of our original members have moved away, moved on, can't make a Wednesday evening range meet, or go to the monthly L.A. meet which is on a Sunday.
But there's still technically a "chapter" and I reply when people email about it.

(I know that's part of our problem, that and the community at large is kinda appathetic about EVERYTHING, us included, even if they support us.) We only have 10-20 folks show each meeting. Still, could be worse. Welcome!

Kacer -
Yes, some of the original organizers were much more active in distributing flyers, attending other org'd meetings, etc. We even had a booth at the L.A. Pride (Christopher Street West) fest two years ago, in conjunction with the L.A. chapter.
As noted, several people meet in L.A. every month; I'm not a big 'organizer' myself anymore. Our info is on the national website and anyone who emails or joins our Yahoo! group gets a reply from me and the opportunity to get together at the range.
I am an NRA Certified Instructor and spend all my spare time iin shooting related activities, matches, range sessions, classes, etc. Anyone in the O.C. area who'd like to meet to shoot or just see what's happening is welcome to PM me.

I was part of the Colorado PP untill it became extinct. I heard of someone trying to start a chapter in Denver and actually found a web site - once. Now that seems to have disappeared so I'm waiting to see what happens.

Why wait to see what happens? If you need a chapter, start one!

Have you ever gone over what it takes to actually run a chapter the correct way. I don't even know if I'd have time to run a board correctly. I would start a chapter if I had other monitors to help. I know this sounds pitiful, but 12 to 18 hour days on a rotating shift can wear out anyone.

I really HAVE been working on it, but NO ONE has EVER accused me of being too FAST Plus the way I TEND top "work" is by getting stuff compiled that would be little better than giberish to most, but it makes sense to me, then I clean it up like 7 times THEN I'm ready for people to see it I THINK I heard Gwen announce at some point something regarding this... but I'm not certain if it is/isn't "finished". I'd check the PP site.
