Looks like it is time to make a decision here.
I am sure that someone has done SOMETHING with or related to firearms, self defense or activism in general.
Yet no one has chosen to post ANYTHING at all here in 16 days.
A few of us get tired of practically talking to ourselves and the few others that seem to still be interested enough to post to or reply to the list seem to be tapering off too.
Put this along with the malicious abandonment of the board by the person who set up and him banning a couple of the more vocal supporters of the board while he jumped ship together with a few other things and it really makes me wonder if this board is savable at all.

Stoner Student,
No shot at you, or anyone else that is busy!
I am just wondering how long it can keep going when 90% of the recent posts are the moderators talking back and forth to each other!
And, more to the point, WHY? I don't see why this board can't accumulate a stable and steady, if small usership that can keep it going and slowly exand it.

Yep, I have kept track of the read markers too, and I make it a point of NOT clicking on a thread unless it has something new in it so that I don't artificially inflate things.

Ping.
BTW, has anyone else noticed that the big GWG banner at the top of the page doesn't work anymore?
EDIT: BTW, I should probably point out that I don't have a web connection at home anymore and am therefore online very sporatically, which should at least partly excuse my long absence here. I do appologize.

Ping. BTW, has anyone else noticed that the big GWG banner at the top of the page doesn't work anymore? I think that the Logo and the posting to photobucket belonged to Kacer, who I understand can not get access to the list any longer due to being blocked by the list owner. Don't know the whole story there, but I think it is part of what is killing this board. Post when you can, that is all anyone can do. As SS said, we get plenty of readers, don't know why they won't post. Buckshot

Kacer got the boot? What else have I missed!
Over the past two and a half years I've been adjusting to life with hiv. Unfortunately I also paired up with an hiv specialist that wasn't looking out for my best interest, but the drug companies interest instead. I recently changed hiv doc's and meds and have begun to improve. The side effects from the first drug combo caused lots of problems, but the new drugs I'm on seem to be less problematic. I can only wait and see if I can turn things around.
Shooting is a dirty sport with spent powder getting everywhere, so I had to back away for a while. Shooting indoors was also a problem even with a good ventilation system.
So, I'm looking for an outdoor range that I can frequent without traveling a gazillion miles and one that won't cost hundreds of $$$. I was shooting a lot before my bug came to live with me and I'd like to get back to blazing away again.
I wish I could help with the problem this site is having, but if people like Kacer get kicked out what chance do we really have. I don't remember her attacking anyone in a bad way, but only that she was very opinionated.
Regardless of personal issues and people getting banned, if folks don't post and only choose to read, what can anyone really do! As for me, I just get preoccupied with other stuff, like breathing!!! Just kidding!

I've done just that. I just changed specialists and he changed my drugs, what a difference. If things keep going like this, I'll be chasing elk and deer during hunting season again and escaping the city life every chance I get to go camping and fishing in the mountains. I really missed reloading and shooting and all the other stuff I used to do.
HIV is just another speed bump in life, others have it worse and some have it better. You adapt and just keep going.

Hmm, maybe I should put my latent artistic skills to work and design a new banner. Or something.
C629: Good to hear that you're doing better now.

C269,
My info came from clicking "Members" in fine print above the ad on the main page (to the right of the missing logo) then clicking on "View Staff", or whatever it is close to that and then clicking on the names to see their activity.
Stoner Student and I seem to be the ONLY 2 staff left active on the board, and we are both just Moderators rather than administrators or owners. Everyone else shows "account not active".
Looks like someone went through and cut a wide swath around January 2005.
Also looks like the rest of us have been limping along since them. Went through and clicked on everything, could not make anything else happen.
Figured you guys might as well know what Stoner Student and I have been trying to keep alive here.

Ohhh, C269, now I get it. I couldn't figure out what C269 was, a code or something maybe.
The board needs an administrator and owner. If we can't find Wayne then can we convince PorBoards to let someone else take over the site? The very bottom of this web page has a line stating this board is hosted for free by ProBoards. Click on that and see what can be accomplished if anything.
Other than finding Wayne or someone else to take ownership, we might think of moving to someplace different, our own board for instance and add a link from this one to our new board.
Thanks for trying guys, but if Wayne took out most of the administrators, Kacer could of been a casualty too.
Starting a new board might be in our best interest as some of us have skills that could be applied here to make this place more inviting!
Just a thought.
Bill
