My comments on the last two messages:
We can get as far out of the swamps and into the suburbs as we can afford. I don't have anything extra right now to contribute to board support, so I can not be counted on for that. I see less hassles here than dealing with a Yahoo Newsgroup. I don't know what else is available for free or how objectionalble it is.
I think we want to watch the name a little. I didn't have too much trouble joining the local Pink Pistols board for my area when it appeared, because it was local. I probably would not have joined this board if I had not been notified of it and invited by people I knew from that Pink Pistols board as I would have been skittish of the name. I would be even MORE skittish of "www.queer-shooters.com" and I would also be very worried about it attracting the wrong people compared to what you are looking for, such as attracting gay-bashers.
My 2 cents, anyway.

Gay gun groups have always had problems attracting and keeping people. Placing a link to the PP web page would be a big help, but I'm also wondering if starting a discussion forum at the PP main page might be even better. Think the PP people would be up for it?

Don't know, never talked to them!
Got drug into this via local PP group start-up attempt then onward and upward to this group.

The PP main page has a chat room. Join the chat group and jump in. The only problem I see is that they suffer from the same thing we do, not much activity.

Happy B-day Buckshot. Have a good day today.
I don't know whats going on but if kacer is doing other things with the PP or just can't log on again then maybe others can't log on either. We need to think about leaving and starting our own site or jumping over to another established website.
I've been thinking about starting another PP chapter in Colorado but the time commitment is to much for me alone. I've also joined the PP chat which picks up every so often. To bad nothing can be done about this site.

C269,
Thanks for the B-day wishes.
Attained curio and relic status in person this year.
Have actually checked, there is no legal provision to change your date of birth like there is for your name.
Have trouble getting excited over getting older in general, and also, now, about celebrating our country's 2nd "Day of Infamy".

SS, no personal computer must be a drag. Many times the computer keeps me sane when I travel, something to do at night when I can't sleep sort of thing. I assume congrats are appropriate for this new job and I hope the $$$ are better too. Maybe you'll be able to get your hands on a lap top at a reasonable price soon. Anyway best wishes toward your new job.
Buckshot I can relate to everything you said! Even today I get mad when I watch the attack on the towers. Then I get mad at Rumsfield for not giving our troops everything they needed up front and not putting more of them there in the first place. He should listen to the generals. You think the government would learn from the mistakes and successes of past wars.
The C&R license is cool and congrats on getting one, but I've had one for sometime now and still haven't used it to acquire anything. I've learned that the new stuff IMHO works better and is more fun for me to bang away with. I'm not saying the C&R is worthless, but for me and my needs the new stuff is more fun. Many C&R holders are history buffs and can collect a bunch of firearms that hold historical value. I'm simply overwhelmed by all the new toys on the market and only have so much storage space in my safe. Have fun digging through all the fascinating firearms out there.

Bill,
I have had the C&R license through two renewals now, so that is probably 8 years plus.
I meant I personally acheived C&R status, as in declared by a museum curator, on the C&R list, or OVER 50!
As far as C&Rs, it makes more difference when you collect what I do. My "area" or "specialty" is Infantry Rifles.
90+% of them ARE C&R so I might as well have the advantage of the license.
