I finally broke down picked up a remington model 11 which I have been wanting for a long time. It's a Sport model 3 shot [2 in the mag and 1 in the chamber] which I;m not crazy about.....but luckly I can convert it to a 5 shot pretty easy.

What made you decide on that model? What are your plans for her?
Congrats, btw. I hope you enjoy it.

Well I have been a big fan of the Model 11....because my Grandfather had one in his old plumbing supply shop....for business use I hadn't seen the gun for years till my Grandfather passed away. And my dad wouldn't let me have it because the barrel was a little short [like about an inch from the mag cap short] My gun will be the legal length...18 1/2 inchs!!!! Grandfather was a bit of a wild ass.....

SS,
Before you cut your current one down, how long is the barrel?
There are a BUNCH of US GI M11 riot guns running around, and I think some spare barrels for them are still available.
Before you cut your long barreled one down, if that is the case, lets see if we can find you a short replacement barrel so you can save that long one, if that is what you have.

SS,
You didn't cut down an original sporting barrel in that case! One of those would most likely have been 26", 28" or 30" and with some kind of fixed (full, modified) choke.
Does it have any US markings on it? US stamp and the flaming bomb ordnance stamp? They had a lot of them much like you described that they used in WW II to train gunners for bombers. Start them out on the ground on a trap field teaching them how to lead a moving target before they got into a moving acircraft to try to do the same thing.
Don't throw the Cutts Compensator away, you might list it on one of the auction sites just to see what you could sell it for if you don't want it. There is always some market for them for parts to fix up those with missing or damaged parts.

Someone else got to it before I did and cut down the barrel and added the comp. I checked it before I bought it for ord marks and it's just a plain jane 11 Sport 3 shot. I shot it before I cut the barrel down to try out the Cutts but have not shot "shortened" yet.

Well finally got the new "high cap mag" installed, and run a box of shells though it...and man I'm in love. I can see why law enforcement and bad guy liked the Model 11 back in the day. ;D
I may try using it in the shotgun matches this year just for fun.
