I have seen posts about the AR-15 series. Also saw a post with a 5.56 X 45 AK.
Anyone into any other mouseguns?
How about the AR18/AR180 or its subsequent developments?
Anyone remember the orginal Bushmaster AK clone before they got into the AR-15 stuff?
There were some 5.56 X 45 stuff from FN and SIG before the AWB shut things down too.
Finally, there has to be some mis-directed soul around here somewhere that still thinks the Ruger Mini-14 is a worthwhile rifle?

I've owned some non-AR15's, the ban is what put me on the AR15 kick. I had a Cosa Mesa AR180 which I wish I still had. also not only do I remember the Bushmaster rifle......I owned one of those boat anchors broke the folding stock twice sent it back to Gwinn and finally replaced the lower with the fixed stocked lower [which I still have] I pulled the charging handle through the upper reciever trying to clear one of the many jams it always produced ......... I could go on and on Anyway had a HK93 for awhile not a bad gun, it shot well. about 3 Mini14's also not a bad gun.....just not cool enuff looking for me.

SS,
I am sitting on a Howa AR180 right now. Thinking about getting an AR180B (hopefully they will modify it with a folding stock now that it is legal to do so?) to keep the wear off the orginal and the original mags.
I had one of the original Bushmasters. It was fixed stock. I built a folder for it. Stole the locking and hinge system off of the AR180 and the rest of the stock design off of the FN Para stock. Made it out of a door hinge, some custom parts, some conduit and some flat steel. Bent and welded it up, painted flat black and added a black Pachmeyer rifle pad.
Stock worked better than the rest of the rifle! Sold it in a fit of low bucks, not much loss, though. They could keep the rifle, I would like to have that stock back, though.
Dad had an early 180 series Mini-14. Not a bad little rifle. I bought one, a later one, and could not hit the broad side of a barn from inside the barn. Traded it off in disgust. Later found out that it was in a group (by serial number) that had the barrels torqued up way too tight and had to be totally replaced, the receivers had strecthed in the receiver ring area and couldnot be saved.
I am a reloader, NO H&K roller lock rifles for me. Do way too much damage to the brass to make a reloader happy.

SS,
I have like 4 converted AR15 20 rounders for the AR180, but they just don't function that well. Want to lock open with one round left in the mag, VERY TIGHT in the mag well.
I didn't do the conversions, and I have never taken the time to find out what the real hangups were, I found a decent source for factory 20s (this was 10 years ago) and found some 30 round plastic mags also for the AR180.
