For those of you who showed interest in the past, the current SOG flyer is listing several trade-in revolvers:
Ruger GP100 .357 Mag., DAO 4" light barrel, stainless, with holster and speed loader $229.95 or 2 or more for $217.95 each.
S&W M36 5 shot .38 Special 3" barrel, FS, blue $199.95n each
S&W M10 6 shot .38 Special 4" light barrel, FS, blue $ 169.95
S&W M13 6 shot .357 Mag. 4" HB, FS, DAO blue $199.95
S&W M65 6 shot .357 Mag. 4" HB, FS, DAO Stainless $249.95
S&W M681 6 shot .357 Mag. 4" HB, FS, Stainless $279.95
I don't work for SOG, but there was a lot of interest the last time I mentioned Police Surplus revolvers and since there are some choices again I thought I would list them.

Buckshot told us, with snippage:> For those of you who showed interest in the past, the currentSOG flyer is listing several trade-in revolvers:Ruger GP100 .357 Mag., DAO 4" light barrel, stainless, with holster and speedloader $229.95<.....I knew that Ruger made DAO GP100 revolvers but I don't think I"ve ever actually seen one. I don't think I would want to give up the ability to shoot single action but for many people a gun like that would be just fine as a home defense gun.....Cougar....

Cougar,
The DAO guns were done both by the factory and by department armorers. I don't which did these Rugers and the ad doesn't say.
Lots of departments carried DAOs, lead, IIRC by Los Angeles. They carried 6" Combat Masterpieces for years in those clamshell holsters. Then they got sued and the attorney alleged that the officer dicked his revolver then had an negligent discharge due to the light trigger pull and accidentally shot the suspect who had surrendered and quit fighting by then. IIRC, they (LA) lost and they went to DAO revolvers slowly.
I use a much smaller DAO, a S&W 640 J-Frame .357 Mag. as my CCW gun. The DAO doesn't bother me, I am not going to be using that gun at a range that I would need single action.
Others may NOT want DAO or a larger gun like the one you cited, expecting it to do multiple duty and not just self defense.
