Congradulations! Graduating is a good thing. My daughter just graduated from the U of A in Tucson, Az. Five years and 15K later she has a degree in history and a minor theater. Big sigh here! She is getting a SAG card which opens doors into the acting and film world and she found she has a knack for sign language which she will use as a translator. So again, congradulations! Oh, I did take her shooting and found she likes and is good with a Glock26. So, I have her next birthday present lined up. ;D

I haven't been to glocktalk for some time and I guess I just haven't seen the link on ARFCOM. I'm headed that way now so I'll look for it. I also want to check out a rumor about glock making a smaller grip on their full sized pistols. Hope that's so cause I wouldn't mind owning a glock 45 again.

Can we get our link on websites like the NRA or Outdoors Unlimited? Our membership should increase with exposure.
Just a thought.

Thanks for starting this site Wayne. The pink pistols of Colorado stopped being untill we find another moderator. I thought about running it, but I'm not sure I've the time to be thorough. I'm an old fart that's been shooting at elk and deer for a long time. I'm phasing out hunting while shooting more small caliber rifles and hand guns at paper targets Good luck.

Sorry Jeb, your not alone, I've been bi all my life and loved every minute of it. ;D Good to know at least two of us know the joys of both worlds. Besides, bi's fill the gap between the gay and hetro worlds, I mean someone has to bring them together, right? ;D ;D ;D So, bring a buddy to the shooting range and show him how to shoot (firearms) with both hands. Yup, being am-BI-dextrous is a good thing.

I agree Trish, but I'm no longer sure "roughing it" means camping. Maybe "roughing it" has moved to; "Gee, this isn't my own home, but the restaurant and motel are good enough." or "I really hate flying so I guess I'll "rough it" and drive!" Okay, my grammar may be chop suey, but I do know how to use the spell check, mostly!? Colorado to Florida, now thats a drive, by way of New Orleans makes it tolerable.

Geezz Buckshot, I'm glad you weren't at Kent State. Ever think maybe the guardsmen were trying to miss? Ever consider that frightening someone so bad might make them stop doing the evil deed or never come back to the defended home? Have you ever considered that not firing a shot and stopping a crime anyway might be a better solution than "firing for effect" or "shooting to kill"? Warning shots, or just the presents of a firearm will usually stop a crime cold. Protection doesn't always mean blasting someone into oblivion, does it? "Firing for effect", "Shoot to kill" sounds like Rambo is alive and well even if you aaa he doesn't have a great shot to hit ratio. ^ ^ Hah, a shrugging smiley face!

Shhh Sapphic, don't mention over penetration or our in house Rambo-commando Buckshot will go nuts. He thinks anything short of a howitzer and total annihilation of a BG is a waste of time. So please keep it down before we have the poor guy spinning in a circle, waving his arms and spitting nonsensical utterances. ;D Yah, I know, it might be to late.

Buckshot, shotguns with a light load like #9 bird shot might do less damage to a common wall between apartments. I'm not really sure, but blazing away, like as fast as you can and screaming "I'm gonna kill you before the cops get here" at the BG usually unnerves anyone. Of course the home owner will need an extra firearm to grab and/or have a box of shells with the shotgun. I pity the neighbor sitting down with family for breakfast with a gallon of milk or O/J on the breakfast table. See the Box of Truth and the impressive water display when a bullet hits the gallon of water and picture a breakfast table setting complete with exploding milk jug. I don't even want to think of the obvious worse case scenario right now. Have a look at, www.theboxoftruth.com and then try and decide which firearm is best defense for an apartment. I simply want to point out that most everything tested blasted through several layers of drywall. So, if #9 bird shot would do less damage and the BG runs for his/her life and no neighbors are left bleeding or praying for divine intervention, then the self defense system worked. No? Heck, even a black powder revolver that belches 3 foot flames and lots of smoke should convince any nut case intruder that the time to leave is now! I also agree with Cougar, but would add that a cheap alarm system that installs by sticking components to walls, doors and windows might be a wise investment too. Also, completing a set (firearm)with accessories (extra mags and rounds and some way to carry everything ) is a smart idea. Any gun safe is a good idea too if it has some weight to it and a decent lock. Some BG's are big enough to simply pick the safe up and run away with it.

Shotguns are always great for self defense. Just start pulling the trigger and spraying shot in the BG's general direction. This act alone should convince the intruder a crazy person lives here and a quick retreat is in order. Self defense doesn't mean killing someone, so scaring a BG away is okay. 9mm and 40s can poke holes in walls which might not be totally embraced by your neighbors. Shotguns, I think, have loads that are for self defense and for apartment living. Besides, you can always shoot trap with a shotgun too.
Anyway, check out a Marlin 30-30 or a Ruger 10-22. Two fun, low recoil rifles to plunk away with.

Well well, I wanted to see the movie, but now that I know Jack dies what's left? Details? Phht! I'm also not surprised the religious bigots in Utah are attacking a gay movie. In their narrow minded world, gays are still Satin's spawn.

I agree! What a shame no one posts anything any more.
I get busy with other things and sometimes don't get on the internet for days. I just put in about six cords of wood for winter and like washing a car, the weather doesn't cooperate. Denver has been getting into the 80's, but if the cold weather ever does show up, I'm ready!
Do we really have 80+ memberships? I wonder how many of them can't get logged on or don't even try anymore.

SS, no personal computer must be a drag. Many times the computer keeps me sane when I travel, something to do at night when I can't sleep sort of thing. I assume congrats are appropriate for this new job and I hope the $$$ are better too. Maybe you'll be able to get your hands on a lap top at a reasonable price soon. Anyway best wishes toward your new job.
Buckshot I can relate to everything you said! Even today I get mad when I watch the attack on the towers. Then I get mad at Rumsfield for not giving our troops everything they needed up front and not putting more of them there in the first place. He should listen to the generals. You think the government would learn from the mistakes and successes of past wars.
The C&R license is cool and congrats on getting one, but I've had one for sometime now and still haven't used it to acquire anything. I've learned that the new stuff IMHO works better and is more fun for me to bang away with. I'm not saying the C&R is worthless, but for me and my needs the new stuff is more fun. Many C&R holders are history buffs and can collect a bunch of firearms that hold historical value. I'm simply overwhelmed by all the new toys on the market and only have so much storage space in my safe. Have fun digging through all the fascinating firearms out there.

Happy B-day Buckshot. Have a good day today.
I don't know whats going on but if kacer is doing other things with the PP or just can't log on again then maybe others can't log on either. We need to think about leaving and starting our own site or jumping over to another established website.
I've been thinking about starting another PP chapter in Colorado but the time commitment is to much for me alone. I've also joined the PP chat which picks up every so often. To bad nothing can be done about this site.
