SS,
I can't be sent out of the US on duty, matter of fact, IN, MI, PA, WV & KY are as far as I can be sent, along with Ohio, so the out-of-the-country argument doesn't fly for me.
Much more likely to get into a civilian engagement than an "on duty, Martial Law (OCMJ) situation".

SS,
Agree with your M1911A1 idea.
Can't really get along with your combat tupperware ideas, though. Especially not in the small calibers.

Who on the board is into Single Action revolvers? Why?
Who is into double action revolvers? Why?
Single action semi-autos?
Double/Single semi-autos? Safety or not?
DAO semi-auto? Safety or not?
Any other kind of semi-auto?
Single shots, derringers or?
Why?
Lets get some discussion going here.

Has anyone noticed that some kinds of ammo are drying up?
5.56 X 45 has been somewhat tight for some time, not much good surplus out there, choppy supplies of anything but softpoint.
Now 7.62 X 39 is tight, at least temporarily. Someone was just talkign about this on another list, and I did some checking.
AIM and Century show NO 7.62 X 39 in stock right now!
Centerfire Systems has ONLY russian commercial production available.
SOG shows Olympic (Greek) boxer primed and Yugo '70s production surplus on stripper clips.
Still out there but all at least $0.10 a round now and no where near the choices there used to be.
Anyone have any calibers they have been watching they can report on?

Standard answers for gun purchase questions:
1. Yes.
2. Get them all.
3. Buy them both.
4. Buy another one.
5. Don't they have a 3-for, 4-for or 5-for? This may be a little vague for those not licensed customers of Century Arms, Intl.
Then you just weave a little something to go with the standard answer to tie into the subject in question

SS,
You actually need both! Doesn't that help you decide? ;^)
The Uzi would be your individual weapon, while you would be part of the weapons crew on the crew served belt fed weapon.
