For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. So, IMO, education, which has many forms, is needed! Hurt the attacker and the attacker will think twice before committing an assault. Aarrgh, sometimes the only way to deal with hate is to send them packing back to the creator.
God, when creating this planet and the life on it, didn't labor to do so. Look at the diversity of life, color, shapes and life styles. When all this was created, diversity was a major ingredient. IMO, a party was thrown and the creator(s) of this world had a blast trying to out do the last entry of life fixed upon this rock.
Changing an attitude must start at the core of an individual or a group. Education and sometimes violence are used to start a shift in basic thought and belief.
Don't scream Stoner. By education, I meant changing the basics, like family violence, knowledge so a person can get a good job and also self-esteem. How many times are children beaten, teaching them that violence is okay, or worse, violence equals love! How do you think a person feels trying to make a decent life with only a third grade education! Boost self- esteem at an early age and watch the world change!
Grass roots anyone? Just make sure you have some bug poison, cause some bugs like to eat the roots of grass!

Kacer, I'm with you on burn out, and needing down time. I hope my tale of work didn't get you down, and I wish you the best. People at my job have finally realized I'm a person too and I have the same rights they do. So get your batteries recharged cause the battle isn't over. I've watched the African-Americans fight for respect and equality from the marches in the 60s to present day and they still fight for their rights. So I figure I can be just as stubborn and keep on being, right in the face of whoever doesn't like it. I can't figure out why our own want to be sheep like. Maybe the problem could be traced back to not having a good role model, I really don't know. Each to their own. Get well.

Where I work is kind of like this. The worst insult is still being called a f*g or... When I let everyone at work know about me, I think there was general panic. You know, gay rubbing off on straight. Hummm. Anyway, after receiving lots of stares and threats they finally realized I was still the same guy they knew the past 15 years. All this was 8 years ago. Unfortunately, some still automaticlly use gay terms as insults, mostly without thinking and sometimes around me which usually brings an immediate apology. So, I'm still one of the boys, but at a distance. Being an ice fisherman taught me one thing about persistence, the only way to break the ice is to keep chopping, ;D or drilling! It's been fun!!!

This type of behavior will never stop until we start shooting back.

Yup, cold steel especially stainless in the light of a full moon, the one in the sky, can really get a message across. I've had three instances that just showing the idiots that I had a gun saved me from beatings or maybe death. Firearms can and do stop more crime without ever being fired. I just can't understand the thought pattern from victims. Maybe they just can't believe their going to be beaten or killed. I don't get it! Respect is something that must be taken, at times, instead of earned or given freely. Go figure!

I'm not sure how to ask this and retain any dignity but could someone please tell me what these mean; CHL, BTW, IMO, BORs. Please remember, I'm thin skinned, wimpy, sensitive and if you laugh too much, I'll go away, but not for long. Oops, I should of waited for a few more posts from Kacer. ;D What about these; JMO, OMMV, OTOH ? Okay, I embarrassed.

I'm still looking for someone or maybe two other people to help with starting a PP chapter in Colorado. Just to let everyone know in case there is some interest out there.
Honestly, I'm not sure what it takes as far as time to run something like a PP chapter.

I'm a little worried. I'm not sure posting signs or stickers are effectively advancing our goal of being accepted, nor does this change the misplaced stereotype of a gay person. I've heard many people say "I don't care what someone's sexual preference is, I just don't like it being pushed in my face". How many times have any of you experienced some annoying person trying to convert you or the way you think at a time or place of inconvenience to you? Are we, the gay community, pushing our life style much like a religious fanatic will try to push their religion on others?

Wait? Well, I kind of pushed the system a little and it responded with an email right away. Hope that didn't mess things up.

Almost spooky isn't it Buckshot, but I'm still here buddy. Amazing how fast and hard we were going then nothing. Well, I did find a tiny, carry only when nothing else will do, pistol. Kel Tec P3AT is tiny and will conceal when a firearm is a no no. This thing has the feel of a plastic toy gun, but shoots a 380 cal round. I've only put maybe 40 rounds thru it and of course had a couple of jams. I was told to keep shooting until at least 200 rounds went thru it for a proper break in. The over all length is about 5", the hight is around 3 3/4" and the width is about 3/4". This little pistol is so light I think it would float on water and it has a generous two finger grip. Of course this little Kel Tec is a tack driver at a range of 1 foot, well maybe 6 inches and at 10 to 15 feet hitting the target is a for sure thing if your not real picky where the bullet hits. Has anyone been paying attention to StonerStudent and Kacer on arfcom? I don't know how you two deal with some of those knuckle heads.

Great pics all. The only one that makes me cringe is the S&W329PD. If there ever was a knuckle buster, that is it. I have a S&W 340SC, a little 357 Air Lite that feels like I'm punching a brick wall when I shoot it. Really good Glock pics!!!

I didn't mean to hijack the thread and I'm not much for remembering name brand sights. The grips are from pachmyer (sp) and wrap around and extend up to the slide. The results are a much better griping surface than the original hard plastic grips and the shock from the recoil has dropped to almost nothing. As for the front sight, I don't remember the name of the company that made it but the gunsmith was almost insistent about changing to this particular type of sight. It consists of a very large white circle about the size of a pencil erasure and has a small green glow in the dark circle in the middle. The darn thing is so big, it's easy to see and whatever I cover with the front sight the bullet hits. I know this must sound comical since covering the target with the front sight is what your supposed to do, but I feel like I'm looking at a golf ball compared to the spec of a front sight that came with the PPKS.
To get the discussion back to the 9mm and 45, between my Kimbers and Glock 26, I have no preference. Both are accurate, easy to operate and the difference in weight is minimal.

This should get some hoots! I actually considered carrying a 25 ACP but because of trouble aiming and hitting the target I went back to the mighty 380 in summer and the 9mm in cooler weather. I must admit, after changing the grips and front sight on my PPKS, I'm able to shoot tighter groups at 15 and 20 feet.

The box of truth looks like to much fun. I need to make one and try all the different pistols and revolvers I have. Thanks for the spark! ;D
